Dear Beloved Church Family,
Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ.
As United Methodists, we understand stewardship not as a seasonal obligation, but as a faithful response to God’s abundant grace. Everything we have and everything we are is a gift from God, and our stewardship is how we live out our gratitude through prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness.
During this season, our congregation is engaged in a worship series entitled “Counter Culture.” In a world that often measures worth by consumption, accumulation, and self-interest, Jesus calls us to a different way of life—one shaped by generosity, trust, and commitment to God’s mission. Faithful stewardship is a counter-cultural act of discipleship that proclaims our lives belong to God and are offered for the transformation of the world.
On January 25, we will receive our Stewardship Pledge Cards. This moment is an opportunity to renew our covenant with God and with one another. Your pledge represents a prayerful commitment to support the ministries of this congregation as we seek to make disciples of Jesus Christ, nurture faith, offer compassionate outreach, and participate in God’s work both locally and through the connectional ministries of The United Methodist Church.
I invite you to approach your pledge with prayer and discernment. Rather than asking, “What can I afford?” I encourage you to ask, “How is God calling me to respond faithfully and generously to the grace I have received?” Every pledge matters because together our commitments enable the shared ministry God has entrusted to us.
If you are unable to be present on January 25, you may return your pledge card at any time. Please know that stewardship is not about equal giving, but about faithful participation, and that you are valued as a beloved child of God—not for what you give, but for your place in this community of grace.
Thank you for your faithfulness and for living out a Gospel that is often counter-cultural, yet deeply transformative. May God continue to shape us as generous disciples for the sake of the world God so loves.
With gratitude and hope,
Pastor Sarah
