What We Believe

The Bible

We believe the Holy Bible, Old and New Testaments, reveal the Word of God. It is to be received through the Holy Spirit as the rule and guide for faith and practice.

The Church

We believe the Christian Church is a community of believers founded by Jesus Christ. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit the Church exists to carry the Gospel to the world, through worship and the spiritual growth of believers.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who proceeds from and is one being with God and Jesus Christ, comforting, sustaining, and empowering the faithful in their faith journey.

Humanity

We believe that God created human beings in God’s image, to be in relationship with God and each other.

God's Community

The church is part of God’s greater community, imperfect as it is, as a community of believers providing a way to gather as God’s children. We strive to obtain God’s ultimate joy of all God’s children gathered in one great community.

The Sacraments

We believe the Sacraments, ordained by Jesus Christ, are an outward and visible symbol of an inward grace freely given to sustain us on our faith journey. There are two Sacraments confirmed by Jesus Christ--Baptism and the Lord’s Supper (communion).

The Trinity

In God, there are three persons of one substance, power, and love—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
