November 2025 Tower Tidings

“I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing the praises of your name, O Most High.” (Ps.9:1-2, NRSV)

Blessing Church!

THANK YOU for the generous Pastor Appreciation gifts in October. From kind words and pumpkins to delicious treats and flowers, your kindness is a good gift that is sending me into November, the month we focus on thankfulness, with a heart overflowing. Thank you!

In just a few days, on November 9th, 2:30 PM, at Corunna UMC, we will complete this year’s church conference and move into the beautiful fall days that lead to the season of Advent, which quickly turns to the joy of Christmastide.

But before we get to that place, let’s spend time this month enjoying each other’s      company and extending gratitude for all the ways God is present with us. One of those places is the opportunity to serve our community, in partnership with the Salvation Army. October 26th we decided as a congregation to collect 10 grocery carts full of food for our neighbors who are hungry.  I am confident that by working together we can achieve this goal. Please see the list of foods needed in this newsletter.

Another opportunity is by participating in First UMC’s potluck on November 23rd after  worship, before attending the Community Thanksgiving Service at First Congregational UCC at 4 PM. Invite your friends, family, and those you meet to join both activities for blessing of body and spirit. Our very own choir members will be singing in the joint choir. I can’t wait to celebrate God’s blessings with all of you!

Finally, I challenge you to get to know something new about those around you each day. Ask what they are thankful for? Ask about favorite Thanksgiving memories. Ask about special moments of fall that give them encouragement. I promise you, if we spend time getting to know each other a bit more deeply, we will also encounter the love of Christ in those moments.  And that is something to be exceptionally thankful for in the season of giving thanks!

I am thankful to be your pastor, and I am honored to be entering the season celebration with you.

Many blessings!

Pastor Sarah
